Erin Forbes

Erin Forbes

Medical Director

Dr. Erin Forbes is a dedicated small animal veterinarian with over 11 years of experience in providing exceptional care to pets. Her expertise spans wellness exams, routine and advanced surgeries, dentistry and oral surgery, medical case management, and exotic pet care. For the past two years, Dr. Forbes has served as the Medical Director at a small clinic in Vermont, where she honed her leadership skills and clinical expertise.

With a special interest in senior medicine, feline medicine, surgery, and pain management, Dr. Forbes is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for her patients. She is driven by her love for problem-solving, her commitment to effective communication, and her desire to help both animals and their owners.

In her free time, Dr. Forbes enjoys playing video games like Breath of the Wild and Mario Party, exploring playgrounds with her young son and nephew, and visiting amusement parks. At home, she spends time with her family, which includes her 6-month-old son and her beloved champion Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, MBIS CH Autumn Hill Ring of Fire, JW—affectionately known as “Ca$h.”

Dr. Forbes is excited to bring her skills, compassion, and enthusiasm to the Wells Dog and Cat community, where she looks forward to building strong connections with clients and their pets.

Jennifer Kirk, DVM

Jennifer Kirk, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Kirk received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University. She then graduated from St. George’s University in 2022 where she received her DVM degree.

Dr. Kirk is interested in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, palliative care, and new pet appointments (especially if they are Labrador puppies!). After working in more corporate practices, she is looking forward to being able to establish relationships and connections with pets & their parents.

Dr. Kirk was born and raised in Massachusetts. She currently resides in Maine with her 2 labs, Guinness & Bennett. During her free time, she enjoys knitting, camping, boating, skiing, cuddling with Guinness & Bennet and eating at new places!

Practice Manager

Pete was born and raised in South Berwick, Maine, and is a graduate of Northeastern University. After working as a Paramedic in Waltham Massachusetts, he returned to Maine and began his career in Veterinary Medicine. Pete worked at the South Berwick Veterinary Hospital as Lead Veterinary Technician for 21 years. For the following 14 years, he was employed by Frisbie Memorial Hospital in expanding leadership roles, including Practice Manager, within the Physician Practice Services.

Pete loves spending time with his wife Karen, their son Colin and Evie, their wonder dog! Pete enjoys working on their property and has been known to dabble in grilling & gardening!

As part of the Northeast Veterinary Partners team, Pete brings his experience & skills to further build the practice and team at the Wells Dog & Cat Hospital.

Hailey

Hailey

Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Hailey was born and raised in Connecticut. She moved to Maine with her boyfriend Steven and their 3 dogs, Gator, Tia, and Bucky. Shortly after they welcomed 2 cats to their family, Taco & Pazuzu.

Hailey was introduced to working with dogs at a young age. She started with helping her mom at dog training classes and in her mom’s grooming salon. She learned basic grooming & training skills, and eventually went on to manage a pet care facility.

Hailey comes to Wells Dog & Cat hospital with 10 years of veterinary medicine experience, from general practice, to Emergency and specialty surgery. When not working with patients Hailey enjoys furthering her education with animal nutrition and pain management. Hailey will treat your pets like they are her own when in her care.

When not in the office Hailey enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family, and friends. She enjoys exploring new trails with her dogs, sitting at the beach, and cooking.

Kevin St. Hilaire

Veterinary Technician

Kevin has been a part of the Wells Dog and Cat Hospital family since 2015. He has a passion for veterinary care and is a great advocate for all animal friends big and little.

Bonnie Begin

Bonnie Begin

Veterinary Technician

Bonnie was born in Methuen, MA. She was raised in both Methuen and Lawrence, MA. She has lived in Salem and Nashua, NH for many years and moved to Maine just under 3 years ago.

Bonnie has a business degree and has completed course work in criminology, psychology, and sociology. She was also a Certified EMT and has worked in the food service industry, including as a bartender.

Her veterinary career started at an animal hospital in North Andover, MA as a receptionist. She then worked at a hospital in Andover, MA as a receptionist then as a technician for about 12 years. Bonnie then made the switch to an animal Hospital in Dracut, MA as a Technician Supervisor for about 18 years. She has a special interest in: low stress handling for both patients and clients. Plus helping our clients & patients have a unique, low stress, homey experience!

In her free time, Bonnie enjoys fishing, bowling, playing cards, games, puzzles and enjoy having regular backyard campfires. She also learns as much as possible about animal behavior, enjoying nature & wildlife. Bonnie also has a sweet spot in her heart for handicapped (either emotionally or behaviorally) or “special needs” pets of all species and attitudes.

Veterinary Technician

Emma was born and raised in Lincoln, MA. She started her Veterinary career as a Veterinary Assistant and through the years became a Veterinary Technician. She also worked as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Lawrence, MA. Emma recently moved to Dover, NH and has joined the team at Wells Dog and Cat Hospital to gain more experience in her Veterinary career.

When not in the office, Emma enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and volunteering at animal rescues!

Kathy Adams

Kathy Adams

Receptionist Supervisor

Kathy joined Wells Dog and Cat Hospital in November 2021 as our Receptionist Supervisor. Kathy has always had a pet by her side. She grew up with Pugs and also had 2 cats, Bonnie & Clyde. Kathy was even spotlighted on a news segment with Channel 5 in Boston, MA showcasing the Christmas cards she created with Bonnie & Clyde dressed up in Christmas themes! She presently has a Yellow Lab named Bruin, who is her 96lbs baby!!

Kathy has worked as a Medical Assistant and after working in the medical community through the COVID-19 pandemic, felt it was time for a change and Veterinary Medicine is the perfect fit.

When Kathy is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark and their son, Liam camping, boating, and hiking with their fur baby, Bruin!

Mary brings several years animal care experience from other hospitals. Her organizational skills and readiness to help in every way make her a real asset to our team. ( Chat topic – her dog Max)

Veterinary Assistant

Emma is originally from New Jersey. She moved to Maine 8 years ago. She has always had an interest in animals and over the past several of years, has pursued a career in Veterinary medicine. Emma graduated from York County Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Animal Care & Management. Her next step is to become a Veterinary Technician. She’s eager to learn and share her skills here at Wells Dog and Cat! In her free time, she likes to ride horses, read books, and hang out with her puppy (Hank)!
